Am I any smaller this pregnancy than the last? The first picture is me on Sunday, exactly one month from my due date. The second picture was taken on 1/25 and my son was born on 2/16.

Holiday Babies
My son is a valentine baby. His birthday isn't actually on valentines day like his father, but close enough, two days later. That valentines my mother gave me a free bear she got with a purchase of 3 Hallmark cards. Some how it became my son's toy, he loves that bear, two years later it has matted hair like a loved toy.

As you can see we have a lot of pictures of him with his valentines bear, simply because he loves the bear.
My next child will also be a holiday baby, but Christmas this time.
I wonder...
will she have a holiday bear?
a christmas bear, that she loves?
a christmas something else stuffed?
Only time will tell.
We ask our son, is that a valentines bear, because you are a valentines baby? And his response is yes.

Homecoming Outfits
When I was two months pregnant the first time my husband and I went to Argentina (yes I admit a terrible time for international travel). While we were there we bought a baby outfit. White with blue little chicken like birds, we were positive the child growing in me was a boy. It was the outfit we brought my son home in the hospital in. It was sized 0-3 months, it drowned him, my mom said, he isn't three months yet.

This might be a little much, but my first child came while I was busy in school. So my second child, is the child that will have way more stuff than the rest. In fact this was scaled down, I was thinking about making a matching baby bracelet, but I decided I'm too tired. Not to mention I'm sure a day old baby doesn't want to wear beads on her wrist. I'll save that for when she is three weeks at her baby blessing.
PS more baby shoes to come in the future!

He was so cute! (Can you tell I'm hormonal?)

I spent too much money on this outfit, but my baby will look so cute coming home from the hospital. Its newborn size so it won't drown her. It didn't come with a hat or built in feet on the pants, so I had to take matters into my own hands. I added a matching bow on a white hat, so her head stays warm, and still matches.
Here is a close up, you know I love to give my viewers a close up.
And I made baby shoes that match! I have an on going love affair with homemade baby shoes for girls. Luckily after making my sister's girl some, I got pregnant with a girl. (They are a different pattern then the last pair.)

10 weeks
I have 10 more weeks until I become the mother of two. I am so not ready. 10 weeks is way too soon. I felt like pregnancy took so long the first time, now with each passing week during my second pregnancy I say, no slow down, I'm not ready for two. Or in another words, nine months the first time around seemed like a near eternity, 9 months this time, is like a blink of an eye, its not even a third of my firstborns life. My sister said, don't worry you will get more and more miserable and want the baby out, by the time 10 weeks passes. I said no, I know the secret now, the baby is easier in the womb than out of it. I told my husband maybe she'll be late and we'll get 12 more weeks. He had already said he isn't ready either, and 10 weeks is too soon. But when I mentioned late, he said no, you want her to come on time since people are coming for Christmas. I said true true. Dang conception date that put the due date in December.

Ups and Downs
Pregnancy is very weird in my opinion. Most of the time, this pregnancy's hormones have made me feel like I'm on cloud 9. Oh yes my body won't stop with the braxton hicks, and yes this baby likes to kick just as much as the last, but isn't the world lovely?! Sure taxes take out way too much of my husband's raise, to the point with our new rental we are making less money, but hey isn't life wonderful?! Yes, thats how my outlook on life is 95% of the time, overly sunny to the point if it was someone other than my thoughts I would want to barf, or at least say, barf and make the action like I did in elementary school. But since I'm overly sunny 95% of the time, I have to be overly negitively emotional the other 5% of the time. Like this weekend when I was trying to tape and newspaper so we could paint, and it wasn't sticking, because I was only taping the newspaper not the wall. Then I started to cry, and my husband looked at me like I was crazy, and I was crazy, I was crying that the I only tapped the newspaper. But oh how life is.
Anyway, after a not so sunny day of braxton hicks, I hate that terminalogy and usually call them contractions, because most definitions say braxton hicks are painless. Well yes, they were painless 2 months ago, 3 months ago, and even a month ago, but they have not be very painless lately. Doctors will tell you braxton hicks can be painful. As far as I can tell the real definition based on my last doctor is if they put you in active labor they are contractions, if they don't they are braxton hicks. Even with that definition I feel like braxton hicks does not do justist to my pain, so I must call them contractions. After a full day of painful contractions basically the whole day, I was very tired last night, and very tired all night long, and very tired in the morning, when my son woke up, as my husband was leaving for work. So I told my husband to send my kid into to me. I heard my husband say, go find mommy in her room. Next thing I know I have a 2 1/2 year old climbing up, I said did you have a good night? yes, did you sleep good? yes, did you have good dreams? yes, then he did it, he laid a big fat kiss on my cheek without being ask. And life again was in seventh heaven, no matter how sore and tired my body was.
Now I'm trying to decided if I want an area run for my hardwood floor living room, or a poncho for my birthday. I really want somewhere comfortable other than a couch and beds in my upstairs like an plush area rug, but once it gets cold I will also want something warm to wear that is attractive, last time my options were my husband's snow coat, or my late grandfather's grey fleece pullover my sister gave to my husband. Life gets dready in the winter.... and cold, the rug will keep my feet warm, hmm, decisions.

9 days, shy of 6 months
I bought two new pairs of maternity pants. I heard full panel is were its at for the third trimester. Old Navy has an interesting opinion of full panel, the jeans are not full panel, maybe the khakis can be defined full. I didn't really have maternity jeans last time, although I did have maternity black pants (I wore them WAY too often, especially with my white tennis shoes), maternity cords, and some interesting jean experiments. For a long time I wore my fat jeans, from my freshman 15 keeping them unzipped with a rubber band around the button until I got too big.
I love my new maternity jeans, I only have one pair of jeans that I look better than this in, when I'm not pregnant. Especially with a shirt like this, I barely look pregnant.
The khakis don't look quite as good. But they still make me wish old navy maternity would have had longs in pants 3 years ago. (They have recently add longs to their online collection for non maternity women, making me excited to try them out in 4 months, hopefully as a low cost option in comparison to Gap longs.)
This outfit I look quite a bit more pregnant in, at least from the correct angle.

Garage Selling Part 2
I also got a bunch of baby girl clothes from the UK at one sale. They were all a dollar a piece of clothing, that might be a lot for a garage sale, but they look new, and they are European. This one says, I heart Daddy. And its true.
Got some UK onesies, I love it, it says, Mummy's Sweet Heart.
Then these dresses, I pretty much hate the heart buttons on the last one, so maybe I'll change them, spend more on the buttons then I did the dress.

Comparisons
It time to compare pregnancies. This was me the other day, I know its not that good of a shot of my belly, but its the best I have for now. I'm 5 months pregnant right now. And feel super little for being pregnant.

Name
My husband and I decided to tell everyone we are naming our daughter, Bette Milder Huntz---, from Seinfeld. We think it has a nice ring to it, even though thats not what we are naming our baby. It makes us laugh really hard every time we bring it up.

Getting Girly
This is the first girl thing I've made for my baby. I got the pooh material at DI for $1, and since its blue I wanted to make it girly, so I added the pink blanket satin stuff. I found it challenging to use. I can't turn down cheap classic pooh.

It is kind of a dumb size. Its about 5 inches wider than a stupid store bought receiving blanket that is useful for nothing. I guess store bought receiving blankets are useful if the baby likes swaddling, but my first born only wanted to be swaddled for about 5 days, after that he would fight and cry until he freed himself. I figured this would be a good size to tuck in around the baby in a car seat.
This took me way too long, almost 3 hours, to only machine sew store bought binding. I had issues with the pinning, and then with the machine, and about everything else.
